Senior Advanced Financial Specialist

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

The highly proficient and extremely experience Sr Advanced Financial Specialist will manage the development and financial planning function for all annual plans including the Business Plan, department budgets, the Capital Plan, and the Forward Pricing Rate Proposal, along with assisting the Controller to monitor Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet account activity for profitability and cash flow analysis. You’ll operate in a gatekeeper capacity to ensure program finance analysts and controllers comply with company policy and procedure, audit requirement, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc. compliance issues. Additionally, this individual will provide consultative, tactical advice to management, based on analysis, to improve outcomes and mitigate losses.

 

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, plus 8 years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree plus 6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, pricing, invoicing, and cost control in a government contracting environment.
• Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Truth in Negotiations Act requirements, government accounting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
• Experience with revenue recognition, long-term accounting for government contracts, and Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as Oracle, Hyperion, and Essbase.

• Lead the development, consolidation, and roll-up of department and cost-pool budgets, capital budgets, strategic business plans, new business funds, and rate-control activities.
• Perform month-end close activities and analyze program, department, and cost-pool financial data for budgets, forecasts, pricing, planning, invoicing, and control.
• Monitor actual program costs against budgeted costs; investigate variances; and support profitability, cash-flow, and balance-sheet analysis.
• Support proposal development, customer negotiations, and fact-finding activities, including pricing-system analysis and rate-application methodologies.
• Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

• Advanced knowledge of General Ledger Accounting, rates and compliance, cost proposals, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and travel functions.
• Experience developing Forward Pricing Rate Proposals and supporting government proposal pricing activities.
• Knowledge of corporate financial statement consolidation, supplemental schedules, and financial reporting.
• Experience conducting investment and business-opportunity analyses, including assessments of financial regulations and government requirements.
• Experience analyzing complex financial data to evaluate current and future financial performance.

This position is on-site in Manassas VA with the option to flex moving forward. We are / are not offering a relocation package at this time. You will be required to be in the office 3 days per week.

USD $120,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
