Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Environmental / Water Resources Engineer in our Austin, TX, San Antonio, TX or Houston, TX office, you will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations, while also learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. In collaboration with top professionals in their field, the candidate will work on complex projects involving innovative civil design, water management challenges, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, stormwater infrastructure and BMP design, flood inundation mitigation and risk reduction, environmental permitting and compliance, and environmental monitoring.

• →Civil/infrastructure design and site layout;
• →Water resources engineering analyses such as hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) modeling and design;
• →Fieldwork such as surface water evaluations, groundwater sampling, site inspections, civil contractor oversight, and similar tasks;
• →Preparation of technical drawings, specifications, engineering documents, and analyses for: civil design, landfill and impoundment design and permitting, site development and grading, water resources engineering/stormwater management, and erosion and sediment controls;
• →Performing engineering computations using computer-based technical tools and preparing related calculation packages;
• →Technical writing of reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
• →Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. 
• →Fieldwork: Up to 30%
• →Overnight travel: Up to 20%

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or other applicable discipline. (required)
• Advanced degree in water resources or environmental engineering. (preferred)
• Current Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification, or the ability to obtain within six months of employment. (preferred)

• At least 2 years of prior internship or full-time experience in civil/environmental consulting or with a civil contractor, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
• Experience performing civil design and site grading. (preferred)
• Experience with relevant engineering software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, EPA SWMM, AutoCAD, ArcView, etc. (preferred)
• Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, and problem-solving skills. (required)
• Regular field work and overnight travel. (required) 
• Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required) 
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
