The Manager, Software Engineering is responsible for developing and leading technical teams in the delivery of quality products in a timely manner. In this role, you will collaborate with technical leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure a cohesive product suite — fostering a team culture grounded in engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Ensure delivery of timely, high-quality results by collaborating with internal stakeholders to align the team with a prioritized backlog and contributing to technical solutions through defining user stories
- →Lead the team in understanding, adhering to, and consistently implementing the software development lifecycle; proactively identify and communicate potential roadblocks to the team and leadership
- →Provide technical guidance, hands-on assistance, and promote a team culture with an emphasis on security, quality, and engineering agility; remove barriers to enable team productivity
- →Assess employee and team performance against established quality metrics, hold direct reports accountable for defined performance standards, and deliver timely, constructive feedback
- →Perform all managerial functions including hiring, compensation management, employee relations, and termination; develop team members through coaching and identifying future leaders
- →Serve as an escalation point for issues, resolve obstacles, and operate as a thought leader contributing to the overall growth and quality of the department
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with relevant software industry background
- Demonstrated technical skills to effectively manage and lead technical teams
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, or other appropriate software development methodologies — or a willingness to learn
- Excellent leadership, sound judgment, and business acumen with the ability to motivate and inspire teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with discretion and tact
- Demonstrated fiscal responsibility and accountability in managing budgets
- Proficiency with CI/CD principles and Microsoft Operating systems and products
- Excellent facilitation, project management, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to coach, mentor, and provide timely, meaningful feedback to team members
- Proficiency with presentation tools and data analytics; ability to develop and deliver engaging, compelling presentations
