About the Role

The Deal Desk Consultant is responsible for creating deal structures, executing deal management activities, and coordinating the resolution of deal-related issues. This role serves as a trusted advisor to sales, helping navigate complex requirements to structure mutually beneficial agreements with prospects and customers. This includes fully analysing and assessing sales opportunities and negotiating terms that maximise profitability for the company while delivering value to the customer.

Responsibilities

  • →Execute the full contract lifecycle process from initiation to completion with minimal guidance, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery at every stage.
  • →Provide guidance to sales and leadership on complex contracts and process-related questions, working across all available channels to find, escalate, and document proper resolution.
  • →Contribute to the development and creation of unique deal structures, leveraging a strong understanding of Hyland's full product portfolio and offerings to support mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • →Negotiate business terms directly with customers and prospects, and lead the creation of negotiated pricing terms and parameters for non-standard business and contract arrangements.
  • →Review, investigate, and resolve contractual questions and issues for account managers and clients, while participating in sales forecasting meetings and prioritising legal workloads based on specified criteria.
  • →Mentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to team members, supporting the development of a high-performing Deal Desk function and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with proven experience as a Deal Desk Analyst in a software or technology environment.
  • Experience in software sales or contract negotiation within the software industry, with a strong understanding of deal structuring and commercial terms.
  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition guidelines, company accounting rules, and their contractual and financial impact.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex opportunities and deliver sound recommendations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrating professional demeanour and the ability to engage with discretion, tact, and confidence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Salesforce – CRM and deal management
  • Strong knowledge of contractual agreements and licensing strategies, with the ability to interpret and apply these in complex deal scenarios.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate business terms directly with customers and prospects, building trust while protecting company interests.
  • Strong project management and facilitation skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching team members, with a track record of providing timely, constructive feedback that supports professional growth.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional follow-through with a customer-service-driven mindset and the highest standards of integrity when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of the UK financial-services market, including relevant regulatory and commercial considerations that impact deal structuring and contracting.
  • Proven deal design and contracting experience, with the ability to craft commercially sound agreements that balance customer needs with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, managing competing priorities with a high degree of self-motivation, accountability, and attention to detail.
