Bayview Medical Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation team
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 10:45 am - 3:00 pm
Pay Rate:$45–$55 per hour (based on experience)
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Observe and assess patients during pulmonary rehabilitation sessions
- →Monitor and obtain vital signs as appropriate
- →Assist patients throughout therapy activities to ensure safety and tolerance
- →Provide patient education related to pulmonary disease management and rehabilitation goals
- →Respond appropriately to patient needs or changes in condition
- →Work collaboratively with the pulmonary rehab team, including another RT responsible for documentation
- →Follow infection control, safety, and departmental policies
- →Maintain a professional, supportive, and respectful environment for all patients
Requirements
~1 min read- Graduate of an AMA‑approved Respiratory Therapy program
- Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Maryland State Board of Physicians
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification required or preferred (per department standards)
- Strong analytical and clinical reasoning skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with intermediate computer proficiency
- Demonstrated ability to show empathy and remain calm in potentially stressful situations
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, visitors, and healthcare staff
- Ability to explain policies, relay information accurately, and communicate with courtesy and tact
