Manager, Engineering

Duties: Analyze business needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Design, develop, and modify software systems and applications to meet business and technical requirements. Develop and support applications and APIs using Spring Boot, REST web services, Guidewire, Duck Creek, AWS, and cloud-based platforms. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, product owners, and other stakeholders to define system capabilities, limitations, interfaces, and technical requirements. Modify existing software to correct errors, improve performance, and adapt systems to new technologies and platforms. Analyze technical information to recommend and plan new system implementations or modifications to existing systems. Guide low-level architecture, detailed system design, and implementation of digital solutions while helping establish engineering processes, standards, and best practices. Determine and evaluate system performance standards and support improvements for scalability, availability, and production readiness. Supervise, mentor, and assign work to software engineers and other technical team members, and collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, and DevOps teams to support deployment and platform stability. Domestic travel required up to 10%. Telecommuting permitted up to 70%

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or a related field and eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or in an Engineering Manager Support-related occupation.Position requires demonstrable experience in the following:1.Analyzing business requirements for alignment with technology architecture, infrastructure design, and technology selection decisions to assist with designing and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness. 2.Enterprise application integration, Business intelligence or decision support system, and Enterprise data design and management. 3.Evaluates team and individual performance and makes compensation recommendations. 4.Manages, plans and administers the operational and administrative activities of Tech Support operations. 5.Collaborates with Product leadership and helps facilitate analysis, development and communication of overall IT Decommission Strategies tied to announced LOB Product Platform Migrations. 6.Experience with systems and vendor selection and System integration and IT process re-engineering. 7.Experience with application architecture and design across enterprise systems. 8.Developing APIs using REST Web Services in the application. Designing and coding in SpringBoot. 9.Data and infrastructure architecture disciplines. 10.Troubleshooting to determine the root cause in complex application architectures. 11.Experience with logging applications.
