Underwriting Assistant II
Quick Summary
Perform policy support and distribution tasks, including processing policy issuance, audits, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements for commercial Property lines of business.
Under limited supervision, the Underwriting Assistant II supports our business partners within Property Underwriting. The UA II must be able to evaluate emails and other instructions from Underwriters and make determinations on how to proceed with modifying the policy documents. Standard operating procedures, reference materials, processing instructions, and 1 on 1 training are available to begin; however, top performers will be successful by relying primarily on their expert-level knowledge of forms and coverages. The UAII will book the policy premium for billing purposes, generate policy documents, send documents and/or email explanations to Brokers, and retain processing records within approved repositories. Rating requests may include policy issuance, premium audit, endorsement, or cancellation transactions for our Property line of business. Work must be completed in a timely and accurate manner and align with Products and Compliance guidelines, as well as attestation controls. This role also requires adherence to our internal metrics for productivity and quality, it requires sound judgment to interpret and make decisions with limited information, prioritize competing demands, work independently, identify discrepancies, conduct research and provide explanations in a clear and understandable manner. The UAII must also maintain strong working relationships with Underwriting, Billing, Brokers, and other internal or external stakeholders.
