Markon is seeking a Close Support Technician to support an Intelligence Community client in Chantilly, Virginia. This position will provide hands-on desktop support, access administration, and technical problem resolution for users across a variety of IT hardware, software, applications, and operating environments. The Close Support Technician will work directly with customers to diagnose and resolve issues, configure desktop equipment, administer user access, and coordinate more complex requirements with appropriate technical teams and service providers.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Provide timely and dependable desktop support, access administration, and technical problem resolution.
- →Respond directly to customers onsite to troubleshoot and resolve IT service requests and technical issues.
- →Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, application, configuration, and performance issues affecting PCs, LAN-connected devices, printers, and other desktop technologies.
- →Support multiple operating environments, standard software suites, and project-specific applications and configurations.
- →Work closely with customers to understand IT requirements and ensure technical problems are diagnosed and resolved in a timely manner.
- →Analyze customer requirements and coordinate more complex issues with the appropriate technical business units or service providers.
- →Provide user account and access administration services.
- →Perform the physical setup, installation, and configuration of desktop hardware and software.
- →Support software installations and upgrades as part of technical implementation teams.
- →Coordinate IT projects and service activities with customers and appropriate technical providers.
- →Provide hands-on support for the movement, installation, and configuration of IT equipment.
Requirements
~1 min read- An active TS/SCI with FSP (Preferrably from this client) is required to be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree related to the technical discipline and at least 3 years of relevant experience; OR
- Associate’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience; OR
- No degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience.
- Thorough knowledge of Sponsor desktop hardware and standard application suites.
- Demonstrated experience identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving desktop hardware, software, and performance issues.
- Knowledge of server administration, maintenance, and user account management.
- Ability to provide hands-on desktop configuration, installation, and access administration support directly to customers.
- Strong customer-service and troubleshooting skills with the ability to effectively diagnose and resolve technical problems.
- Willingness to perform physical IT support activities, including moving equipment and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
