The Mind Research Network (MRN), a division of the Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute (LBRI), is seeking a Research Coordinator to join Dr. Candelaria-Cook’s lab. The successful candidate will support an NIH-funded research project focused on spatial memory development in children and adolescents. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1) participant recruitment and coordination, 2) fMRI and MEG data collection, curation & management, 3) conducting clinical assessments, 4) preparing submissions to the NIH data archive, 5) coordinating IRB amendments, 6) analyzing data quantitatively and assist in preparation of reports, presentations, and manuscripts, 7) team collaboration. As this position involves working as part of a research team, as well as working with children and their families, applicants should have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been attained.  Candidates with a M.A are also encouraged to apply.  

 

Must have demonstrated knowledge of psychological, socio-behavioral and/or neurobehavioral research principles, practices and protocols as well as knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures of basic medical and/or clinical research. Must have the ability to understand and follow basic scientific research protocols and procedures.

 

Requires strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality as well as the ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.  Must have a high degree of professionalism, strong organizational and time-management skills.  Demonstrated ability in managing a wide variety of tasks simultaneously while meeting multiple deadlines is required.

 

Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a background check.

 

Experience with clinical assessments and statistical methods/software is preferred.  

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or with clinical populations, and comfortable interacting with children and families in a research setting.
  • Experience coordinating human subjects research and recruiting from the community.
  • Experience with neuroimaging, particularly MEG and/or MRI data collection.
  • Proficiency with Linux/Unix environments.
  • Programming or data-science experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R, or similar).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a research team.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Individuals with Developmental Psychology background.

Requirements

Work is performed in a dry laboratory environment.  Will operate standard office equipment and will frequently stand, walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, perform repetitive motions and occasionally lift objects that weigh up to 20 pounds.  May interact with research participants.
