Automation/Electrical Engineering Intern

• →Support automation and controls improvement projects.
• →Assist with PLC/HMI documentation updates.
• →Collect and analyze equipment performance data.
• →Support reliability and preventive maintenance initiatives.
• →Assist with electrical drawings and field verification.

Novelis in Ashville, OH has an opportunity to participate in our on-site summer 2027 internship. The team is seeking an Automation/Electrical Engineering Intern that can join the team for approximately 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in relevant work and gain hands on industry experience. The person in this role will report to the Quality Manager and will gain experience with monitoring the quality data from which the organization makes informed decisions.

• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field.
• Must be a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
• Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

• Solid business insight
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite, AutoCAD, PLC fundamentals, HMI/SCADA basics, data analysis and troubleshooting, Ignition, and Power BI

• High interest in becoming an engineering leader in a manufacturing environment
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills
