About the Role
~1 min read- Architecture & Design: Creating high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD) for enterprise campus networks, data center fabrics, and WAN, including SD-WAN.
- IP/MPLS Networking: Configuring and troubleshooting advanced routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS) and MPLS services (L2VPN, L3VPN, VPLS).
- Security & Compliance: Implementing Zero Trust architectures, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA), and IDS/IPS to secure network traffic.
- Automation & Scripting: Utilizing Python and Ansible for "Infrastructure-as-Code" (IaC) to automate network configurations and provisioning.
- Troubleshooting & Operations: Acting as the top escalation point (L3/L4 support) for complex network issues.
- Cloud Integration: Connecting on-premises networks with public/private cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience: Generally 5–10+ years in network engineering, often within ISP or large enterprise environments.
- Certifications: Professional or Expert-level certifications are typically required or preferred (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, Juniper JNCIP/JNCIE).
- Technology Stack: Strong proficiency with Cisco (IOS, NX-OS, ACI), Juniper, Palo Alto, and F5 load balancers.
- Protocols: Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, Segment Routing, and IPv6.
- Soft Skills: Technical leadership, project management, and strong communication skills to explain complex designs to non-technical stakeholders.
