Summer 2027 Solution Architect Intern

Peraton is seeking a Summer 2027 Solution Architect Intern to support the County of San Diego Contract from June 2027 to August 2027.

 

As Solution Architect intern students will work with senior architects to design cloud and AI solutions for County services, including system diagrams, architecture patterns, and AWS-based designs under the AI-DLC framework. You'll see how enterprise systems are planned before a line of code is written.

 

Peraton is the County of San Diego's IT and telecommunications partner, supporting the technology that County departments rely on to serve more than 3 million residents, from public health and social services to public safety and libraries. As a intern/co-op on the CoSD program, you'll work alongside Peraton professionals on real projects that modernize County services, including emerging work applying AI to how software is designed, built, and delivered.

 

• US Citizenship
• HS Diploma and some advanced level training.
• You are a current undergrad or graduate student and have completed progress or pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (upper-level undergrad or graduate preferred)
• Understanding of software design and cloud computing fundamentals
• Ability to create technical diagrams and explain design decisions

 

• AWS Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect Associate certification
• Familiarity with architecture patterns (microservices, serverless, event-driven)
• Exposure to AI-DLC, infrastructure as code, or AWS AI services
• Prior software development internship

The rate / range per hour below represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
