As a trusted partner to the Federal Aviation Administration, Peraton helps deliver the systems and services that keep our nation’s skies safe and connected. We’re looking for innovative professionals who thrive in mission-critical environments and are passionate about shaping the future of air traffic management. This is your chance to make an impact on one of the world’s most vital transportation infrastructures, working alongside leaders in aviation, engineering, data science, and systems integration.

At Peraton, you won’t just support the mission you’ll define it. Turn complex systems into clear guidance that keeps America flying safely.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support high-visibility Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) modernization programs. This role is ideal for a writer who enjoys working with advanced technologies and wants their work to have real-world, national impact.

  • This position is 100% on-site, primarily located in Chantilly VA, with an alternate work location available in Bowie, MD. Candidates must be able to work on-site at one of these locations based on program requirements.

  • Ensure all deliverables meet Section 508 accessibility and FAA branding guidelines

  • Manage documentation schedules and deliverables across multiple workstreams

  • Prepare documentation status updates and readiness materials for program stakeholders

  • Apply industry best practices, tools, and templates to continuously improve documentation quality

FAA modernization relies on documentation that is precise, usable, and compliant. As a Technical Writer, your work directly supports aviation safety, system reliability, and regulatory compliance helping ensure that the technologies guiding U.S. air travel are understood, trusted, and used correctly. This role offers meaningful exposure to federal programs, long-term stability, and the opportunity to contribute to systems that impact millions of travelers every day.
