The Service Extension Department is seeking a Seasonal Volunteer Database Data Entry Clerk to support our holiday kettle season. In this important behind-the-scenes role, you'll help ensure volunteer information is accurate, organized, and accessible while also assisting in connecting individuals who reach out for help with the appropriate local service unit.

 

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, communicating with others, and being part of an energetic team working toward a shared mission.

Responsibilities

As our Seasonal Volunteer Database Data Entry Clerk, you will:

  • →Maintain and accurately enter kettle volunteer information into the volunteer database.
  • →Create and maintain spreadsheets containing necessary volunteer information.
  • →Enter volunteer information received from local units into the appropriate database.
  • →Send volunteers training videos, instructions, and other information needed to prepare them for their assignments.
  • →Respond to online requests for assistance and route inquiries to the appropriate service unit based on the individual's ZIP code.
  • →Follow up with volunteers as needed to help keep holiday kettle activities moving smoothly.
  • →Assist the Service Extension Director with seasonal kettle projects and other related assignments.
  • →Help maintain accurate, organized, and confidential records throughout the season.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Comfortable learning and working in computer databases.
  • Accurate and attentive to detail when entering and maintaining information.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • A clear and professional written and verbal communicator.
  • Comfortable communicating with volunteers, coworkers, and members of the public.
  • Dependable, collaborative, energetic, and service-oriented.
  • Able to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Committed to The Salvation Army's mission and programs.

 

 

  • High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
  • Experience with data entry, administrative support, volunteer coordination, or similar work is helpful.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.

 

Your work may happen behind the scenes, but it plays an important part in making the holiday season successful.

 

You'll help support volunteers, strengthen local kettle efforts, and connect people seeking assistance with services in their communities, all while gaining valuable experience in database management, administration, communication, and nonprofit operations.
