Paralegal

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or Paralegal certificate and a minimum of three years of previous experience in a legal support environment, either in a corporate or law firm setting.
The Paralegal assists leaders on the Legal and Compliance team by performing a variety of legal duties, including conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, handling active and non-routine litigation matters, responding to subpoena and discovery requests, and maintaining confidential company records. This role requires 100% onsite attendance in our Pontiac office.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Reviewing and responding to legal documents.
- →Reviewing, monitoring and responding to subpoenas and other discovery requests.
- →Researching and analyzing statutes, regulations, judicial decisions, legal articles and other relevant informational sources
- →Handling guideline issues that have legal nuances
- →Preparing written correspondence with outside counsel and other third-parties, including responses to complaints
- →Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
- →Editing legal documents for accuracy
- →Assisting with issues related to MERS, servicing, marketing reviews, settlement agent oversight, title claims and other title related issues

- Have experience performing legal research and comprehension of state statutes and civil code procedures.
- Have knowledge of the litigation and subpoena processes.

- Have effective planning, organizational and project management skills.
- Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously effectively.
