As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you’ll play an important role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care throughout each patient’s visit. You’ll:
- Triage patients and obtain thorough histories, vital signs, and patient assessments
- Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
- Provide compassionate nursing care from intake through discharge
- Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
- Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection
- Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs during procedures
- Support anesthesia induction and recovery
- Assist with surgical procedures and provide appropriate patient nursing care
- Maintain accurate patient and medical records
- Practice Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques to help keep patients safe and comfortable
