- Senior, hands-on technical role accountable for test automation architecture, frameworks, infrastructure, and engineering standards across Beacon, HCP, EBF, firmware, component, and other software-intensive programs.
- Establish scalable automation spanning component, firmware, API, integration, system, UI, and end-to-end testing.
- Design reusable test infrastructure for physical systems, virtual machines, containers, and cloud environments.
- Collaborate with Software, Firmware, Systems, QE, DevOps, Cybersecurity, and Architecture teams to promote testability by design and continuous testing.
- Expected to architect, code, prototype, troubleshoot, review designs/code, and technically mentor engineers.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Own the test automation architecture, strategy, standards, and technical roadmap.
- →Build reusable automation frameworks with Python and suitable supporting technologies.
- →Develop automation architecture for firmware, components, EBF, subsystems, APIs, integrated systems, and end-to-end workflows.
- →Create reusable test libraries, harnesses, simulators, mocks, utilities, and test infrastructure.
- →Design automation environments using AWS, VMs, Docker, containers, and physical/virtual test environments.
- →Incorporate automation into CI/CD and DevOps pipelines.
- →Establish automated processes for environment provisioning, configuration, deployment, test execution, result collection, and diagnostics.
- →Support parallel and scalable test execution across virtualized/containerized environments.
- →Set engineering standards for Git, code reviews, configuration management, logging, diagnostics, traceability, and maintainability.
- →Advance testability by design, including APIs, automation interfaces, observability, logging, simulation, and fault isolation.
- →Investigate complex failures across software, firmware, infrastructure, networking, and system integration boundaries.
- →Minimize flaky tests, environment dependencies, execution time, and automation technical debt.
- →Lead architecture and code reviews while providing hands-on technical mentoring to automation engineers.
- →Promote reuse of common automation capabilities across programs instead of independent product-specific frameworks.
- Python, including framework/library development

- SQL/data validation where applicable
- Strong software engineering and architecture mindset, rather than script-based test automation.
- Must be hands-on and capable of designing and coding automation frameworks.
- Experience designing automation that scales across multiple products, environments, and teams.
- Ability to operate across firmware → component → application → system → cloud test layers.
- Strong debugging and root-cause-analysis capabilities across complex integrated environments.
- Ability to modernize legacy automation while maintaining ongoing product verification.
- Demonstrated ability to create reliable, reusable and maintainable automation infrastructure.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum of 10 years of related experience or Master's Degree plus a minimum of 8 years of related experience or waiver based on experience. Degree should be in a technical discipline such as Chemistry, Math, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Proficiency with a personal computer and software packages.
- Ability to administer software engineering tools; configuration management, requirements management, and defect management.
- Ability to operate instrumentation.
- Possesses strong written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment of software developers and testers.
- Proficient in code languages (Assembly, C, C++, Java, C#, etc.) found in product development.
- Proficiency with a personal computer and software packages

- Possesses strong written and oral communications skills

The annual base salary range for this role is currently $165K to $200K range. Individual employee compensation will ultimately depend on factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and particular business needs.
This role is eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k plan retirement benefits with an employer match, as well as paid vacation and sick leave. Our sales roles are eligible for participation in a commission plan and our management, and select professional roles, are eligible for a performance-based bonus.
