Hand Add Tech Lead

This is a mid-level position responsible for providing leadership and direction in the attainment of food safety and quality as well as daily/weekly/monthly/yearly operational goals. This position is responsible for the hand-add operatin and providing back-up support to other roles.  This position is also responsible for the cleanliness of the general plant area, with an emphasis on the hand-add area.

• →Lead all production employees to maintain Food Safety/Quality standards and production goals are met.
• →Ensure we follow safety protocols first followed by feed safety/quality and then customer service.
• →Maintain all working areas to the food safety and quality standards set forth by regulatory and 3rd party audit bodies.
• →Maintain accurate and detailed production records.
• →Lead Daily Redzone Huddles.
• →Verify Medication logs throughout shift.
• →Inspect materials and finished products for accuracy.
• →Escalate any deviations or non-conformances to management in a timely manner.
• →Feel empowered to halt production in the event of any process deviations identified.
• →Escalate and investigate all non-conforming products and/or documentation.
• →Audit bins to ensure they are legible, and bins have a cleanout frequency.
• →Ensure all ingredient racking storage is properly labeled and clearly identified.
• →Ensure that storage bins and containers for ingredients are always labeled.
• →Stage and organize ingredients for mixing operators as indicated on mixing records.
• →Maintain accurate and organized documentation of batch records to maintain product traceability.
• →Perform general clean-up inside/outside hand-add and finished product area to maintain housekeeping standards.
• →Maintain partial bags with clamps and keep organized.
• →Train new technicians on procedures, equipment, and safety practices.
• →Lead and support hand add techs during daily operations.
• →Ensure all equipment is inspected and entered through Redzone.
• →Perform bin inventory and ensure bins are properly labeled.
• →Provide back-up support for other roles as necessary.
• →Available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis, as necessary.
• →Assist hands-on in hand add task when needed.
• →Operate forklifts to support production.
• →Functionally cross-trained in other support roles.
• →Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.

• A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Forklift experience preferred.

• Multi-task and handle continuous interruptions without losing focus.
• Concentrate and remain focused despite repeated interruptions.
• Strong follow-through skills.
• Self-motivated and accountable for results.
• Safely operate all forklifts as referenced in the essential duties.
• Able to work on a time deadline and follow instructions.

• Write clearly and legibly to keep detailed and accurate records.

• Frequently lift/carry objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds.
• Frequently twist, stoop, bend, climb, push, and/or pull.
• Frequently reach for objects in performance of the specific essential job tasks.
• Occasionally lift/move/push/pull objects weighing up to and including 55 pounds.
• Occasionally perform overhead lifting of objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
• Vision sufficient to safely perform the specific essential jobs tasks outlined.
