The Server serves food and beverage items to guests of E11EVEN Club Hotel & Residences in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and timely manner, ensuring a positive experience for all guests.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- → Greet guests upon arrival and assist with seating as needed.
- → Present menus and wine lists to guests and describe all daily specials.
- → Take food and beverage orders accurately and courteously, and respond to guests’ questions regarding food and beverage items.
- → Open, present, and pour wines and champagnes in a professional manner as needed.
- → Accurately enter food and beverage orders into the POS system and submit them to the kitchen and bar in a timely manner; coordinate with kitchen staff to clarify any special requests.
- → Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, and verify the legal drinking age of guests as needed.
- → Review food orders for accuracy and presentation prior to delivering them to guests, and coordinate with kitchen staff to rectify any deficiencies.
- → Refill guests’ beverages as requested and monitor guests during meals to provide for all needs.
- → Suggest desserts to guests at the completion of the meal, and accurately take and deliver dessert orders.
- → Deliver an accurately itemized bill to guests upon meal completion.
- → Handle purchasing transactions, including operating the POS system, receiving payment, making change, issuing receipts, and accounting for daily sales.
- → Clear and reset tables as needed.
- → Possess and maintain thorough knowledge of all beverage selections, including the characteristics and description of every wine and champagne on the wine list and by the glass, as well as all menu items, preparation methods and times, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, presentation, and prices.
- → Maintain cleanliness and sanitation at all times, and perform closing clean-up duties.
- → Resolve guest problems and complaints using own best judgment, or refer them to the F&B Supervisor and/or management as needed.
- → Assist other staff members as needed to ensure optimum service to all guests.
- → Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain files and records.
- → Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
~1 min read- High school or equivalent education required.
- One to two (1-2) years of experience as a food server in a full-service restaurant required; customer service experience preferred.
- Must be the minimum age to serve alcohol.
- 8 paid holidays per year
- Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service
- Paid Sick & Safe Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, with up to 72 hours of unused time carried over from one anniversary year to the next.
- 8 paid holidays per year; employees working in the City of Denver receive 64 hours of designated holiday time per calendar year
- Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service
- 6 days or 48 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year, accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
- 8 paid holidays per year
- Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service, capped at 1.5x annual accrual rate; non-supervisory employees working in the City of Los Angeles accrue up to 22 days of Compensated Time Off, based on length of service capped at 192 hours of combined PST and CTO.
- Paid Sick Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, unused time is carried over from one anniversary year to the next up to a maximum of 80 hours; employees working in the City of Los Angeles are provided 40 hours of Paid Sick Time annually on their anniversary, unused time is not carried over from one anniversary year to the next.
Please note that certain benefits described above for associates in Washington, Colorado, and California may vary for associates covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (“CBA”). For such associates, eligibility for and the terms and conditions of benefits are governed by the applicable CBA and any applicable plan documents, and may differ from the benefits described above. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency, the terms of the applicable CBA and governing plan documents will control, as applicable.
