Sage Specialty Hospital located in Wichita Falls, TX is seeking a Full-Time Health Information Management Coordinator (HIM Coordinator) to join its team!
The Health Information Management Coordinator performs hospital medical records clerical functions primarily through the electronic medical record (EMR), while reconciling paper chart components in the hybrid record. The Coordinator analyzes records for completeness, identifies and follows up on documentation deficiencies, scans and indexes documents, maintains record availability, and processes authorized requests for information.
Requirements

- Two+ years of hospital medical records experience preferred, including analysis of medical records and documentation in an EMR.
- Experience with paper chart assembly, scanning and indexing, incomplete record tracking, and release of information preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, confidentiality practices, and hospital documentation workflows; strong attention to detail and computer skills.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English. RHIA, RHIT, and coding credentials are NOT required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes medical records and documentation in the EMR.
- Maintains the hybrid medical record.
- Supports record completion and routine reporting.
- Uses departmental equipment and resources appropriately.
- Protects patient information and processes authorized requests.
- Coordinates clerical work with hospital staff.
- Promotes environmental and patient safety.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of state, federal, and accrediting agency’s regulatory requirements.
