The Area Operations Manager has the primary responsibility for supervising the daily operations of the Hub locations and developing a productive, profitable and achievement-oriented working environment for employees. Address operational issues and concerns in a timely fashion.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Implements and directs hub safety programs and warehouse operational practices
- →Conducts annual transportation cost analyses and takes corrective actions
- →Conducts with the Ops team inventory control procedures, including reconciling inventory accounts, coordinating inventory returns and repairs, and assisting in product cycle counting
- →Conducts hub management meetings to communicate information and resolve problems
- →Analyzes reports to identify potential operational deficiencies and take corrective actions
- →Analyzes customer feedback procedures and develops methods to improve service quality using metrics.
- →Implements and ensures consistent compliance with standard operating procedures, policies, internal audit controls, Sarbanes-Oxley controls and business management quality system requirements
- →Utilizes LEAN methodologies to develop and implement action plans to correct problem areas and optimize established levels of business performance objectives, service, productivity, and quality.
- →Define service standards and KPI’s for hub operations
- →Contributes to preparation of branch annual budget, including forecast of capital expenditures.
- →Helps Hubs Coordinate employee work assignments to achieve inbound and outbound service requirements
- →Directs achievement of performance objectives related to productivity, quality, service and safety
- →Trains and Coaches Hub Managers on Monitoring workflow, work completed, error rates and related metrics and take corrective action.
- →Ensures procedures are observed, implemented and enforced
- →Ensures warehouse employees receive training
- →Maintains positive employee relations and morale
- →Assists in developing and documenting warehouse processes
- →With assistance from Human Resources, carries out performance management actions, including hiring, firing, discipline and setting of pay rates for employees
Requirements

- Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and solve problems immediately.
- Must be team-oriented and have good interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have good analytical, problem solving, and organizational abilities
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and work calmly under pressure.
- Exhibits the ability to work well with others and maintain organization between cross-related departments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be willing to travel
- Must be able to operate a forklift; prior forklift certification preferred.
- Knowledge of the industry and market trends
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong business acumen
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- An eye for attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional analytical skills to sift through high volumes of data and information
- 5 or more years of progressive experience managing operations in a business environment in a similar capacity listed in the duties and responsibilities above
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AA/AS degree in Business or related field preferred
