Job Title: Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

  • →Apply expert level troubleshooting techniques and determine proper repair procedures on all assigned work orders
  • →Service, diagnose and repair/rebuild all engine/components regardless of model/maker of equipment, including electrical, computers, and monitors at customer’s jobsite
  • →Disassemble, inspect and determine parts needed. Reassemble to factory specifications
  • →Interact with customers and answer repair-related questions as required. Refer non-repair related questions to supervisor
  • →Perform heavy electrical and computer repairs
  • →Interpret and utilize information from operating, maintenance and service manuals/bulletins
  • →Inspect components removed from machines to determine their reusability
  • →Prepare parts requisitions, parts returns, accurate and complete service reports, and other necessary reports and forms
  • →Clearly and concisely document all work and repairs completed in a timely manner
  • →Maintain work area, tools and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment
  • →Perform various other duties as assigned
  • Minimum of four years’ experience repairing heavy construction equipment preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing expert level mechanical repairs
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Thorough knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical and other related components to troubleshoot and analyze unique and high level problems/issues quickly and improvise using logic and critical thinking skills to make needed repairs
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to repair Caterpillar and competitive components and machines
  • Excellent driving record and the ability to obtain a CDL
  • Ability to become DOT certified with DOT Medical Card
  • Willingness to work any shift and overtime as needed to meet business and customer demands
  • Strong communication with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-direction and well organized
  • Proficient use of technical software, databases and manuals
  • Demonstrating ability to learn and apply new knowledge
  • Working independently and part of a team
  • Prioritizing workload while providing excellent customer service
  • Interacting with customers on a professional level
  • Performing well in a fast-paced work environment
  • Working in coordination with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives

Actual base pay may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
