Director of Nutrition & Dining

As the Director of Nutrition and Dining you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the Nutrition & Dining team throughout all Cayuga Health entities including food preparation, patient meal service, retail food operations, catering, and nutritional education and counseling.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Nutrition and Dining Services across patient meal service, retail, catering, and clinical nutrition operations in diverse healthcare environments, including acute care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and other system settings.
- Ensure financially responsible department operations by developing and managing operating, labor, and capital budgets, monitoring key performance indicators, addressing areas for improvement, and maintaining operations within established financial targets.
- Drive quality, safety, and customer satisfaction by monitoring patient and customer feedback, implementing improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage departmental vendors, suppliers, and contracts to optimize service, quality, and value, including collaboration with regional and national group purchasing organizations to maximize contract utilization.
- Partner across Centralus Health to support organizational strategy and growth by representing Nutrition and Dining Services on cross-functional teams, supporting internal and community initiatives, and leading the design and implementation of nutrition services for new or acquired entities.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Education - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nutrition or Food Service, or a 2 year related degree with 5 years of experience.
- Experience - Minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience in an acute care setting.
- Licensure - None. RD or CDM preferred.
- Servsafe or equivalent food safety certification required, or able to be obtained within the first 90 days. Certification must remain throughout tenure.
Location and Travel Requirements:
- Location: Onsite - Throughout the Cayuga Health System dining sites to include Schuyler Hospital, Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility, Cayuga Medical Center, Cayuga Addition and Recovery Services (CARS) & Crisis Prevention Center
- Shift: Days, with flexibility for special events held on campus and community off campus events
- Travel: 25% local travel may be expected in this role to locations listed above when needed
Physical Requirements:
- Standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, pushing, pulling and reaching. May be exposed to areas of extreme heat or cold. Primary work location may include loud noises, wet and slippery conditions, exposure to sharp objects. A licensed ability to drive may be necessary.
- Salary range of $90,000 - $125,000 annually
