St. Petersburg Catholic High School is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced Head Swimming Coach to lead our student-athletes and continue building a competitive and faith-centered swimming program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing young people both in and out of the pool, fostering a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Lead and oversee all aspects of the high school swimming program.
- →Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices, meet preparation, and competition strategies.
- →Teach and develop fundamental and advanced swimming techniques, race strategies, and conditioning.
- →Foster a positive, disciplined, and Christ-centered team culture.
- →Mentor student-athletes in their athletic, academic, personal, and spiritual development.
- →Coordinate team schedules, meet entries, travel arrangements, and program logistics.
- →Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, administration, and athletic department staff.
- →Ensure compliance with all school, diocesan, Florida High School Athletic Association, and league rules and regulations.
- →Promote the swimming program within the school and local community.
- →Assist with program growth, including offseason development and middle school outreach.
Requirements
~1 min read- Previous coaching experience in competitive swimming at the high school, club, or collegiate level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of swimming technique, training methods, and race strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Ability to successfully complete all diocesan and school employment requirements, including background screening and Safe Environment training.
