A Speech Pathologist diagnoses and treats conditions that affect one’s ability to communicate and swallow. As experts in communication, these specialists assess, diagnose, treat and prevent speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders from birth through old age. Speech Pathologists can help patients improve their speech, open new communication possibilities, and improve their ability to comprehend others, express oneself, communicate more effectively in social settings, and swallow safely.
By joining the Indian River team as a Speech Pathologist, you will work with both in-patient and outpatient speech patients, focusing on dysphagia, voice, and aphasia. You will also perform Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies in this role. This is a dedicated, collaborative team that will help you to advance your skills and one that encourages growth.
