As the Property Supervisor, you will oversee the Property Team at the CCS Basic Needs – Salt Lake (BN-SL) campus. You will be accountable for team performance, facility upkeep, and safe, sanitary conditions across campus buildings and grounds. You will directly supervise Property Team members, providing leadership, scheduling, training, and coaching, while working alongside the team to maintain clean, safe, and functional environments that reflect the dignity and hospitality at the heart of Basic Needs – Salt Lake.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Directly supervise Property Technicians, including hiring input, performance management, and corrective action.
- →Provide day-to-day direction to the Property Team, assigning and prioritizing work to meet facility and meal service needs.
- →Develop and manage Property Team schedules, coordinating coverage for absences, events, and seasonal needs such as snow and ice management.
- →Train and coach the Property Team, including onboarding new team members on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and biohazard safety protocols.
- →Ensure the team follows established safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of biohazard materials and drug paraphernalia and the appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
- →Conduct routine inspections of buildings and grounds, identifying maintenance needs and safety hazards and ensuring timely follow-through.
- →Track and prioritize maintenance and repair needs, completing repairs in-house where possible and coordinating with the Basic Needs Operations Manager and outside vendors when additional support is required.
- →Manage inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment, and order or request supplies as needed.
- →Collaborate with program staff, Easter Seals staff, volunteers, and community partners to support daily operations and a welcoming service environment. This includes identifying volunteer needs for cleaning and maintenance tasks, communicating them to the Volunteer & Community Engagement Supervisor, and providing day-to-day direction to volunteers that have been assigned to the Property Team.
- →Report safety concerns and security needs promptly to the Safety Team for response and inform the Basic Needs Operations Manager of unusual circumstances.
- →Perform Property Team duties as needed, including dining room setup and breakdown, restroom maintenance, groundskeeping, and routine property maintenance.

Requirements
~2 min read- This position works on-site at the CCS Basic Needs – Salt Lake (BN-SL) campus and includes a combination of indoor and outdoor work. The role requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, and working in physically active environments. Occasional lifting and carrying of supplies, equipment, and donated goods up to 50 pounds is required. Outdoor work includes groundskeeping and snow removal in seasonal weather conditions. The use of personal protective equipment, including ear protection when operating equipment, is required.
- The work environment is fast-paced and can be unpredictable, particularly during meal service hours. This position regularly interacts with individuals experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. The work requires patience, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and professionalism in a dynamic, high-traffic setting. Exposure to biohazard materials and unsanitary conditions is a regular part of this role.

- Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least two years of experience in property maintenance, facilities management, custodial services, or a related field.
- Prior experience supervising or leading staff, including assigning work, training, and addressing performance concerns.
- Working knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and safe handling of biohazard materials.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools, and to train others in their safe use.
- Ability to establish priorities, manage multiple activities, and adjust plans in a fast-changing environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to treating all individuals with dignity, compassion, and respect.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Basic plumbing, carpentry, or electrical knowledge sufficient to complete minor repairs.
- Experience coordinating work orders, repair tracking, or outside vendors.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable populations.
- Forklift certification, or the ability to obtain one.
- Must pass a national BCI/FBI background check.
- This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week on a fixed schedule established at the time of hire, with flexibility to cover absences, events, and seasonal needs as required.
