Job Summary The Country Manager will act as the company’s key local representative, driving business development, ensuring operational excellence, and building strong relationships with partners, regulators, and customers. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, results-oriented, and capable of translating strategic objectives into actionable plans that deliver measurable growth. Responsibilities Act as the primary point of contact in Rwanda, managing relationships with banks, mobile money providers, merchants, regulators, and other key stakeholders to strengthen the company’s presence and reputation. Lead business development initiatives, including merchant acquisition, lead generation, and strategic partnerships to drive growth and market expansion. Negotiate and finalise contracts with partners, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements and compliance with company policies Ensure full compliance with local laws, regulatory requirements, and company policies, mitigating risk while maintaining operational efficiency. Oversee day-to-day operations, including customer service, issue resolution, and service quality, ensuring a seamless experience for clients and partners. Translate company strategy into actionable operational and business plans to achieve revenue and growth targets. Build, mentor, and guide team members, fostering accountability and operational excellence. Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and operational performance, preparing regular insights and reports for the head office. Prepare regular performance, market, and operational reports for the top leadership, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making Represent the company in key meetings, negotiations, and events, strengthening relationships and advancing strategic objectives. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or a related field. Proven experience in business development, relationship management, sales, or a similar role, preferably within the fintech industry. Knowledge of Rwanda’s regulatory, financial, and mobile money landscape is an advantage. Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Solid understanding of market research, lead generation techniques, and sales methodologies. Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools to manage leads, opportunities, and customer relationships effectively. Demonstrated business acumen, market awareness, and understanding of industry trends and dynamics. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively. Experience in contract management and performance reporting. Demonstrated ability to identify challenges, develop innovative solutions, and drive timely resolutions. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and provide actionable insights.
