The International Potato Center (CIP) is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Grants and Contracts Intern at our Headquarters in Lima, Peru. As a Grants and Contracts (G&C) Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of our G&C department. About the role: The intern will assist in updating G&C, and CIP-related systems for the donor and partner award portfolio, ensuring efficient access and distribution of information while maintaining compliance with institutional and donors’ requirements. The intern will report to the Grants and Contract System Officer. Key activities: Assist in reviewing, validating, updating and distributing grant and contract documentation and related data in the OCS ERP system, ensuring consistency and proper record management. Support in maintaining up-to-date database and repository of contractual transactions in OCS ERP and/or Knowledge Management G&C public and internal sites and Project sites in coordination with G&C System Officer and G&C portfolio owners. Support compliance with donor requirements, including supporting timely submission of deliverables/reports by monitoring OCS alerts in coordination with the G&C System Officer. Support the follow-up actions for subgrant agreements. Assist in the subgrants’ close-out process. Support the management of electronic and hard copies of G&C documentation of project files for proper record-keeping. Support distributing contractual documents internally and externally. Support partners’ reporting by monitoring OCS alerts and sending reminders in coordination with G&C portfolio owners and updating the relevant systems. Support in drafting Compliance Matrix for new awards. Support responding to Resource Mobilization Unit (RMU) requests concerning past and ongoing projects by systematically sourcing, verifying, and compiling information from historical archives and the OCS. Support the G&C portfolio owners on the drafting of common letters addressed to partners. Participate in project life cycle reviews and meetings; and support other G&C transactions, when needed. Assist in creating and monitoring the G&C task assignment/ticketing system Ensure compliance with national and international health and safety laws, regulations, and standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements What are we looking for on a candidate? Currently in the final years of a bachelor’s degree or hold a bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, Operations or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ranked in the upper third of their faculty (mandatory requirement). Preferred previous experience (as volunteer or intern) in an international organization / NGOs or project-based organizations, donor-funded projects or in a similar position in CGIAR organizations, Research Centers, or Public International Organizations. Interest and ability to manage qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, work in a multidisciplinary environment, and collaborate with research teams and partners. Excellent interpersonal relationships skills and teamwork orientation. Spanish and proficiency in English; Written and Oral. MS Office, with strong Excel skills (e.g., data management, formulas, and basic analysis). Benefits Why should you consider this opportunity?
