Job Summary:
The Diesel Mechanic will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing diesel-powered equipment to ensure smooth operations in the manufacturing and transportation processes. This includes diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel engines, heavy machinery, and related systems.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday 7:30AM to 5PM, timing could change depending on production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines and equipment, including inspections, oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment, such as forklifts, loaders, and trucks.
- Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve engine performance issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, fuel, and exhaust systems.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance are conducted in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Perform safety checks on equipment to prevent operational hazards.
- Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
- Provide detailed reports on diagnostics, repairs performed, and equipment conditions.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the operations and logistics teams to ensure equipment is operational and downtime is minimized.
- Assist in training equipment operators on proper care and maintenance procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Diesel Technology or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with OSHA and environmental safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions.
- Must be able to pass all required safety training and certifications.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment:
This position requires working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move around for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in high-temperature environments.
- Dexterity to handle tools and equipment adjustments.
- Must be able to work in an industrial setting with exposure to dust, noise, and heavy machinery.
