Position: Interim Operations Project Manager (6-Month Contract)

We are seeking a highly organized, resourceful, and results-oriented professional to provide direct project and operational support to the Chief Operating Officer across the CHF BC Group, including CHF BC, COHO Management Services, and the Community Land Trust.


This role will be responsible for coordinating strategic and operational initiatives, tracking key organizational priorities, supporting governance processes, and helping implement systems that improve organizational effectiveness and service delivery.


Working closely with senior leaders, the Interim Operations Project Manager will help move projects from planning to execution, establish reporting mechanisms, identify risks, and ensure accountability for critical deliverables.



Key Responsibilities



Project Management and Execution

  • Coordinate and monitor organizational projects and strategic initiatives that advance the organizations’ business objectives
  • Develop project plans, timelines, workback schedules, and reporting tools.
  • Monitor progress against business objectives and organizational priorities.
  • Identify project risks, barriers, and required decisions and escalate as appropriate.
  • Support implementation of operational improvement initiatives.



Governance and Board Support

  • Coordinate board and committee meeting processes.
  • Track board motions, action items, and follow-up activities.
  • Support AGM planning and execution.
  • Assist with preparation of board packages, reports, and supporting materials.
  • Maintain governance templates and documentation.



Operational Systems and Continuous Improvement

  • Develop templates, tracking systems, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Support risk identification, mitigation planning, and operational reviews.
  • Assist with process mapping and documentation.
  • Support service delivery improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Help establish consistent project management and reporting practices.



Research and Organizational Development

  • Conduct research and prepare briefing notes.
  • Assist with member engagement initiatives, surveys, and consultations.
  • Support policy, procedure, and framework development.
  • Analyze information and provide recommendations that support operational decision-making.



Executive Support

  • Act as a central coordination point for strategic initiatives led by the COO.
  • Track commitments, deadlines, dependencies, and organizational priorities.
  • Support the COO in maintaining visibility across multiple projects and initiatives.



Qualifications

  • Experience in project management, operations, governance, or organizational development.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Experience working in not-for-profit, cooperative, housing, or member-based organizations is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written communication and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using Copilot, AI tools, or workflow automation technologies is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
