Experienced ABA Therapist - Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

We are currently looking for Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) or Paraprofessionals who have at least 1 year of experience working with children with Autism to become a part of our Cole Health team where your days are centered around your passions, growth aspirations and extreme job satisfaction. Experienced candidates will be given an RBT Competency Exam to determine starting pay rate based on their experience before being hired.   All RBTs will have their competency levels re-assessed every 6 months.   There are 6 levels of RBT competency, each one comes with additional responsibilities/growth and pay.

Hourly Rate: $21.00-$26.00/hour depending on RBT Competency Exam/Experience ($19.00 for non-rbts)

Location: Cary and greater Triangle area

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one ABA services to children with autism in their homes and approved community settings.
• Implement individualized skill-acquisition and behavior-support programs as written by the supervising BCBA.
• Help patients develop functional communication, developmental, self-help, self-advocacy, and social skills while keeping Patient First at the center of every session.
• Collect accurate data and complete clear, timely session documentation.
• Communicate professionally with caregivers and promptly share clinical questions, concerns, or changes with your supervisor.
• Work collaboratively with the clinical team, respond positively to feedback, and apply guidance consistently.
• Participate in required BCBA supervision, patient-specific training, team meetings, and professional development.
• Follow approved safety procedures, confidentiality requirements, the RBT Ethics Code, treatment protocols, and all Cole policies.
• Maintain dependable daily attendance and arrive prepared and on time, as consistency is essential to each patient’s treatment and progress.
• Travel reliably between assigned patient homes and community locations within the designated service area.

What you will bring

• Active RBT certification in good standing with the BACB and eligibility to provide services under Cole’s qualified supervision.
• At least 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience supporting children with autism or other developmental needs; in-home ABA experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to pass required criminal background, abuse-registry, exclusion, and other pre-employment checks.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to complete required certification before independent assignment.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, current auto insurance, and willingness to travel throughout the assigned area.
• A dependable schedule, with afternoon and early evening availability strongly preferred.
• Comfort working independently in family homes while staying closely connected to the clinical team.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
