Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly collaborative, results-oriented person to join the team as Analyst, Category Management. Your primary responsibility will be to provide category management and insight support across the entire Chomps portfolio of products within assigned key accounts and sales channels. In this role, you will collaborate with sales, operations, and marketing teams to support the execution of growth strategies across our customers aligned to category growth goals and total company objectives. You will make an impact by helping align with sales and retailer partners to identify win-win opportunities between Chomps and assigned retail partners. The Analyst, Category Management is passionate about analytics and storytelling, turning insights into compelling narratives that elevate customer partnerships. 

  • Build category knowledge, and help identify and articulate business insights and fact-based opportunities (storytelling) for assigned key accounts/channels by leveraging a variety of retailer, vendor, market/consumption, and shopper data sources (Numerator, retailer specific).  
  • Your analytic insights and recommendations will help build capabilities and develop functional expertise to drive incremental growth.
  • Utilize various information sources to address a variety of routine and ad-hoc analytical projects, including (but not limited to) regularly published retailer and/or category scorecards, performance reports/updates with assessment of brand, category, and competitive opportunities/issues.
  • Support the management of data by organizing, scrubbing, analyzing, and finalizing large sets of raw data.
  • Learn to utilize customer-specific shopper and data platforms to help leverage information for decision making, both internal and external.
  • Partner with marketing and sales teams by providing analytics, reporting, and data-driven content addressing customer and category questions and opportunities.  
  • Help develop fact-based selling stories for innovation launches, close distribution gaps and expand distribution to support company, consumer, and customer strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to create category-focused analysis & compelling insights to drive Chomps strategic priorities.
  • Support competitive intelligence and analyses (total category, channel, customer level) to help protect or grow our business.
  • Contribute to the measurement of test-and-learn initiatives and continuous improvement of shelving and merchandising recommendations.
  • Support a data-driven approach to in-store placements and planogram recommendations.  
  • Contribute to organizational goals by taking on new and different duties and identifying new opportunities within the Sales and Business Intelligence departments.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in category management, CPG analytics, and/or account management.
  • Prior industry experience in food, CPG, and/or grocery/natural is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of secondary and syndicated data sources (Nielsen, Spins, IRI, Numerator, 84.51, etc.), loyalty card and shopper panel metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and visual selling content.
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and relationship management skills.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to confidently communicate insights and recommendations to external stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize a high volume of requests and projects.

   

  • The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $75,000 + 10% annual bonus
