CircuitHub is reshaping electronics manufacturing with The Grid—a factory-scale robotics platform designed to make small-batch, high-mix electronics assembly radically more efficient. Think semiconductor-fab levels of precision applied to the chaotic world of prototyping and low-volume production. The result? A 10x throughput improvement in one of the world’s most foundational industries.

We’ve raised $45M from top-tier investors including Plural, Y Combinator and Google Ventures—and we’re already profitable. Our customers include industry leaders like Tesla, Meta, and Zipline.

The Grid isn’t a prototype—it’s live, scaling fast, and already delivering real revenue. We’re now building the engineering core that will scale it further.

We are assembling a team of system build engineers to scale the production of our factory automation systems. We are looking for people who are excited to build robotics, whether that be high speed gantries, novel end effectors, custom assembly tooling, laser enclosures, chemical handling systems and everything in between. If you love to build things, this role could be for you!

Critically, you should be comfortable interpreting 3D CAD assemblies and building from them directly. We use Fusion 360, but a basic familiarity with Fusion 360 or other leading CAD systems (Solidworks, Inventor, Creo, Catia, NX, Onshape) in a professional or hobbyist setting is a must.

Experience with PLC commissioning/debugging, particularly Beckhoff TwinCAT, CNC machining and cabinet wiring would be bonuses here.

This role would be excellent for (but not limited to!) recent graduates, newly qualified apprentices, maintenance technicians, machinists, makers and more. If you want to build things and can spin CAD we want to hear from you.

We are flexible on how you want to work; this is a hands-on, onsite role but the hours and schedule aren’t rigid. We would be delighted to accommodate part time or adjusted schedules to suit caring/childcare or other obligations outside of work. Would you prefer a non-traditional work schedule? Talk to us!

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Build up full automation systems from a mixture of custom and off-the-shelf parts, anything from hand-held end effectors to multi-tonne high speed gantries

  • Take a role in commissioning and testing

  • Liaise with logistics partners for system shipment

  • Work through any design issues by feeding back to the design team and making your own design changes

  • General workshop tasks such as tidying, consumable stocking and machinery cleaning

Salary, £35,000 - £60,000 dependent on experience

A candidate at the lower end of this range might be expected to:

  • Be able to build mechatronic assemblies from 3D CAD

  • Carry out basic troubleshooting tasks such as selecting the correct fasteners, torquing to the correct values, pressing bearings and feeding back design issues to the wider team.

  • Work safely in a dynamic, constantly evolving workshop environment

A candidate at the higher end of this range might additionally be able to do some of the following:

  • carry out small component design changes as part of assembly troubleshooting

  • Carry out some TwinCAT drive commissioning

  • Be confident in basic troubleshooting of a wiring cabinet

  • Set up/program a CNC mill

Think you can do more than this? Great! The salary range is not a hard limit, if you are an expert on all of the above we still want to talk to you.

Not quite so experienced, but passionate and want to learn? Also great! Talk to us, we might be able to find a place for you.

This is an onsite role out of our site in central Cambridge working alongside a driven team of automation engineers who are designing, building and supporting the expansion of our Grid PCB assembly system.
