Application Development Tech Lead Analyst -Vice President

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities. Responsibilities: * Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements * Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards * System Reliability & Operations: * Perform regular updates and patching of server operating systems (e.g., RHEL 7 to RHEL 8), applications, web servers, and middleware to maintain cyber hygiene and security. * Ensure comprehensive backup strategies are in place for all files and folders before any system upgrade, guaranteeing quick restoration capabilities. * Implement and enforce strict access controls for application team members, adhering to Citi standards for vulnerability remediation and security effectiveness. * Manage and perform Quarterly WebLogic CPU Patching. * Execute JDK/JRE, AppDynamics, and Tomcat upgrades as required. * Oversee SSL installation and renewal for ICGA and Essbase applications to ensure secure communication. * Provide stable and consistent baseline support for allocated applications, minimizing disruptions through streamlined routine tasks and proactive planning. * Provide engineering support including monitoring applications, services, logs, performance, and issues to facilitate faster issue resolution. * Engage proactively with application teams to address any application, middleware, or service-related issues, providing valuable insights and troubleshooting expertise. * Assist application teams in building new infrastructure and decommissioning unused estate resources. * Support and troubleshoot SFTP setup and related issues. * Procure new servers, whether physical or within Elastic Container Service (ECS), including solution planning, budgeting, and implementation. * Perform decommissioning processes for old servers and applications that have been migrated to new environments. * Automation & Tooling: * Demonstrate strong proficiency in automation tools and technologies such as PowerShell, Shell scripting, Python scripting, and Ansible. * Automate manual tasks to enhance consistency, minimize human error, reduce rework cycles, and streamline processes for increased efficiency. * Regularly evaluate and learn new tools and technologies to ensure alignment with organizational needs and optimize operations. * Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of new tools and identify areas for further optimization. * Install, configure, and maintain SRE tools such as the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for logging, monitoring, and analysis. * Cloud Platform & Containerization: * Work with various cloud platforms and technologies, including Elastic Container Service (ECS), Kubernetes, OpenShift, and managing Pods. * Continuous Improvement & Optimization: * Identify areas for improvement and inform decision-making by providing valuable data points and analysis related to application support tools and techniques. * Contribute to customer satisfaction through effective BAU activities and consistent service delivery. * Technical Skills & Experience * Experience with server operating systems (e.g., RHEL). * Must-have proficiency in scripting languages including PowerShell, Shell scripting, and Python, and automation tools such as Ansible. * Required experience with cloud platforms (e.g., LightSpeed, ECScloud, Kubernetes, OpenShift, managing Pods). * Experience with SRE tools such as ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana). * Knowledge of application monitoring tools (e.g., AppDynamics). * Experience with WebLogic, JDK/JRE, and Tomcat. * Understanding of SSL certificate management. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly for SFTP and middleware-related issues. * Ability to work with data points for analysis and decision-making. * Familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity processes (PROB & COB). * Experience with server procurement, solution planning, and budgeting. * Knowledge of server decommissioning processes. * Recommended Qualifications: * 6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role * Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications * Experience in managing and implementing successful projects * Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development * Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate * Demonstrated leadership and project management skills * Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication Education: * Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience * Master’s degree preferred This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
