Assistant Mechanic

The Assistant Mechanic will be responsible for lending strong support on a daily basis to the Mechanics, so as to ensure all work schedules and pertinent needs of Cheddi Jagan International Airport are met.

Core Job Functions

• Conducting regular inspections of all Vehicles, Equipment and Machinery to ensure operating efficiency

• 
  Assists with routine and general serving of all vehicles in the Corporation’s fleet in accordance with established procedures

• 
  Assists with the moderate to complex overhaul and repair work on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, fuel systems as necessary

• 
  Ensure accountability of all tools and equipment in the Workshop and Cleans and maintains Mechanic Workshop facilities and equipment

• 
  Ensure all works are carried out are performed in a safe manner

Minimum Requirements:

• 
  CXC – 5 subjects (including Mathematics and English)grades 1-3

• 
  Proven technical skills evidenced by the possession of a technician’s diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

• 
  Minimum of three years working experience in a similar capacity

• 
  Ability to work independently and to utilize proven methods to solve problems

• 
  Must be computer literate

• 
  Must be able to work based on a shift system (weekends/holidays) and flexible hours.
