  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all applicant information, student identities, and evaluation notes.

  • Postcards: Track student names and write/send personalized thank-you postcards within 24 hours of completing a live interview or video review (all postcards and postage materials are provided by Urban).

  • Written Summaries: Complete and submit factual, detailed written summaries within 48 hours. Summaries must be objective, based on evidence from the interaction/video, and allow admissions file readers to draw their own conclusions.

  • Timekeeping: Accurately log all time spent working—including live calls, video watching, prep time, writing summaries, and preparing postcards—in the school's electronic timekeeping platform.

  • Engagement & Environment: Engage actively and listen attentively. Maintain a quiet, well-lit, professional home office space with consistent Wi-Fi. (Use of background blur or standard virtual backgrounds is required).

  • Rapport & Demeanor: Create a warm, welcoming tone that conveys respect and builds rapport. Ask open-ended and thoughtful follow-up questions. Maintain an objective, kind, and open-minded approach.

  • Positive Representation & Boundaries: Project genuine interest in learning about the student while remaining sensitive to any discomfort. Do not comment on an applicant's appearance or home setting, or ask questions that could cause discomfort.

  • Admissions Neutrality: Never give false hope regarding admission decisions—interviewers do not make final admissions decisions. Ensure each student leaves with a positive impression of Urban.

Asynchronous Video Reviewing Duties

  • Video Evaluation: Carefully watch and evaluate prospective student video submissions at the benchmark pace of roughly 4 videos (including corresponding write-ups and postcards) per hour.

  • Objective Review: Assess student content objectively against evaluation guidelines, treating every applicant's submission with consistent care and fairness.
