Security Guard

The Security Guard helps maintain a safe, secure, and orderly facility by monitoring security systems, observing activity, verifying deliveries, conducting routine patrols, and promptly reporting security concerns.

Security Responsibilities 40% of job

• Monitor facility camera and security systems.
• Observe employees and visitors entering and leaving the facility.
• Help ensure that employees, visitors, and delivery personnel follow established security protocols.
• Verify deliveries entering and leaving the facility.
• Document and promptly report security incidents, concerns, and policy violations to the Security Supervisor.
• Walk the facility perimeter daily.
• Monitor the overall safety and security of the facility.
• Identify and report unusual or suspicious activity.
• Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding security matters and company information.
• Remain attentive and available throughout the scheduled shift to help prevent gaps in security coverage.

Miscellaneous Duties 5% of job

• →Complete authorized errands and deliveries.
• →Perform other duties related to facility security and operations as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Dependable work history demonstrating consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Demonstrated honesty, sound judgment, discretion, and respect for confidential information.
• Ability to follow security policies and established procedures consistently.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn camera and security systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
• Strong organizational and observation skills.
• Ability to document incidents accurately and report concerns promptly.
• Ability to maintain consistent work quality with limited supervision.
• A professional attitude and willingness to learn.

• Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, including shifts of eight hours or longer.
• Ability to view security monitors for extended periods.
• Sufficient vision to observe facility activity and monitor security systems.
• Manual dexterity and general mobility sufficient to perform patrols and other assigned responsibilities.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Some college coursework.
• Two or more years of experience in a security position.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
