Catholic Charities of Herkimer County is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and community-minded individual to join our team as a full-time Gambling Harms Peer Support Coordinator.

As a Gambling Harms Peer Support Coordinator, you will help individuals and families affected by gambling-related harms connect with support services, recovery resources, and community programs. This role combines peer support, advocacy, outreach, and education to help build healthier communities.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Develop and maintain knowledge of gambling harms, harm reduction strategies, and recovery support services.
- →Engage with individuals who are exploring recovery or are at various stages of their recovery journey.
- →Coordinate peer support services related to gambling harms recovery.
- →Facilitate individual and group peer support sessions.
- →Assist individuals and families in navigating available support services and community resources.
- →Provide support during pre-crisis and crisis situations and coordinate appropriate referrals.
- →Conduct community outreach and public education on gambling harms prevention and recovery resources.
- →Represent Catholic Charities at community events, meetings, trainings, and partner organizations.
- Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: Primarily 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Wednesday and Friday: Alternating between:
- 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM, or
- 12:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Requirements
~1 min read- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and community partners
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Experience in peer support, human services, addiction recovery, behavioral health, community outreach, or related fields
