You will be a key member of our fast-growing and high-performing AI team in India, owning the design and build-out of our Agent Platform - the foundational infrastructure that powers how AI agents are developed and deployed across Clari + Salesloft. We are looking for an experienced Principal AI Engineer who can help realize the Clari + Salesloft vision with their passion and proven track record of excellence and innovation. We are looking for engineers who are passionate about their work and who thrive on leading-edge technologies to develop ground-breaking AI-driven enterprise-grade applications.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for -
We're at an inflection point. Our AI platform scope has expanded significantly - from RAG and LLM gateway to now building an MCP platform, harness engineering, agentic orchestration, agentic feedback loops, AI security, guardrails, and eval frameworks. We're also a growing India-first team with real global influence.
We need a Principal Engineer who can set the technical north star for the AI Platform division, bring Applied AI depth that matches our ambitions, and be the IC counterpart to engineering leadership - someone who owns the what and how at the highest level of technical rigor.
This role is parallel to the Senior Engineering Manager for India. You will be the technical authority; they run the org. Together, you shape the division.

Clari+Salesloft's Applied AI Engineering organization builds the intelligence layer that powers the entire Clari+Salesloft Revenue platform. The team is responsible for the foundational infrastructure on which all GenAI capabilities are built - from how models are accessed and governed, to how agents reason, act, and are evaluated in production. We ship production AI systems at scale. Our platform surfaces as real product moments for thousands of revenue teams globally and the Principal Engineer owns the technical foundation that makes that possible.

10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on platform or infrastructure-layer systems

Proven experience building and operating AI/ML platforms or agent infrastructure at scale, such as context management, model routing, agent observability.

Deep familiarity with modern agent frameworks (e.g. LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI) and the evolving agentic tooling ecosystem

Hands-on experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar tool-use and capability-exposure patterns, including gateway or proxy architectures

Strong understanding of security and access control in agentic systems - including credential management, scoped permissions, and safe agent-to-system interaction patterns

Demonstrated ability to lead technical direction across multiple teams and drive complex, multi-stakeholder projects to delivery

Experience with Python and/or Java; comfort across the full stack of backend systems

Excellent async-first communication skills - able to work across teams and timezones to align on direction and drive outcomes
