ABOUT THE ROLE

The Analyst, Project Finance is responsible for supporting the team focusing on project financing as well as strategic modeling of solar and storage projects. This role will support the creating and updating of complex financial models, supporting transaction closings, and supporting compliance of financial documents. We have a preference for applicants in the Boise or New York areas or individuals open to relocating to one of those areas.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Use long term forecast models to analyze potential capital projects using valuation techniques, including IRR and NPV. 

  • Assist with the due diligence, review, and analysis of prospective financings. 

  • Assist in performing complex modeling including creating valuations, budgets and evaluating financial structures for debt and tax equity. 

  • Prepare and update HBLV and tracking models, analytical packages and group KPIs. 

  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of all financial data in financial models.  

  • Provide scenario planning and communicate results related, but not limited to, PPA, Capital Investments and Financing structures. 

  • Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization. 

  • Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, energy/environmental, or related field.
    • Experience:
      • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Capital Markets, Project Finance, and/or tax equity structures, or investment banking within renewable energy industry.
    • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
    • Skills/Attributes: 
      • Ability to build and interpret project finance models in Excel, including cash flow projections, IRR, NPV, and sensitivity analysis for renewable energy projects. 
      • Understanding of key metrics such as Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), capacity factors, and PPA structures to evaluate project viability. 
      • Proficiency in Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables) and familiarity with financial software or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for analyzing large datasets and preparing reports. 
      • Analytical Curiosity: Proactively asks questions to understand drivers behind assumptions. 
      • Adaptability: Handles shifting priorities and learns new tools quickly. 
      • Structured Communication: Clearly explains numbers and logic in simple terms.
