About the Role

The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for managing the documentation for the strategic sourcing process, contract management, purchase order execution, and delivery coordination. 

Responsibilities

  • Manages Purchase Order generation and oversight throughout the supply chain process.
  • Lead team meetings between supplier, shipping, construction partners, and project team members.
  • Update and report project tracking data for the Supply Chain team and other departments as needed.
  • Support the sourcing of leads and relationship management of new supply partners.
  • Maintain and update data on various trackers, including key component pricing, market data, and analysis.
  • Provide recommendations to Supply Chain leadership during the contract negotiation process based on market and risk knowledge.
  • Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
  • Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or supply chain management; or equivalent years of industry experience in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain or procurement positions.
  • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
  • Skills/Attributes:
    • Ability to use Excel to build tools and reports to support business decisions.
    • Foundational contract negotiation skills and best practices.
    • Independently leads routine meetings with internal and external group members.
    • Ability to gather and translate technical information into an understandable format for reports and presentations.
    • Ability to understand market and/or product to analyze to help make business decisions
    • Ability to independently gather and understand project requirements to effectively complete a task. Identify roadblocks and help identify resolution
    • Adept at conveying detailed information in a clear and concise manner, ensuring effective understanding among internal and external stakeholders.
    • Capable at nurturing new relationships for collaboration in achieving shared goals.
    • Foundational ability to persuade others and gain buy-in.
    • Self-motivated to work through complex problems and competing priorities, including a high level of detail and organization.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
