Position Overview
The Part-Time Assistant Event Manager provides on-site support during events held in our 28,000 sq ft event center and large livestock arena. This role focuses on customer service, basic event oversight, and helping ensure the facility runs smoothly while events are in progress. The Part-Time Assistant Event Manager provides on-site support during events held in our 28,000 sq ft event center and large livestock arena. Compensation
- $25/hour
Event Support
- Act as the on-site point of contact for clients, vendors, and guests during scheduled events.
- Assist with checking that event setups match the planned layout.
- Provide general guidance and support to clients throughout the event.
Facility Monitoring
- Walk the event center and arena to ensure they remain clean, safe, and presentable.
- Report maintenance issues, spills, or safety concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Confirm basic equipment (lighting, sound, gates, etc.) is functioning and notify staff if something needs attention.
Guest & Vendor Interaction
- Greet clients and guests with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Direct vendors and exhibitors to loading areas or setup locations.
- Answer questions and help resolve minor issues as they arise.
Safety Awareness
- Help ensure facility rules and safety guidelines are followed.
- Assist with general crowd flow and awareness during busy events.
Light Administrative Tasks
- Complete simple event notes or incident reports when needed.
- Participate in brief pre-event or post-event check-ins with staff.
Facility Upkeep & Site Management
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized event environment.
- Assist with responsibilities such as picking up trash, resetting chairs or tables, addressing spills, and other tasks as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Creative and effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to respond to problems and to assist clients with a calm, courteous, and helpful manner and attitude.
- Thorough understanding of legal regulations and permits required for events.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Minimum Qualifications
- Customer service or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
- Friendly, reliable, and comfortable interacting with the public.
- Ability to stay calm and helpful in busy or changing environments.
- Comfortable working around livestock and agricultural settings.
- Able to stand, walk, and perform general physical tasks for extended periods.
- Must be available for evenings, weekends, and flexible scheduling based on event needs
