CNS Group is seeking a dynamic and service-oriented Hostess for a luxury hotel in Zanzibar. The role is responsible for receiving and giving a warm welcome to all guests, providing an efficient and courteous approach at all times, and ensuring every guest's dining experience begins and ends on an exceptional note. The ideal candidate should be polished, sophisticated, and genuinely passionate about guest service, with excellent communication skills and the ability to create a memorable first impression in a luxury hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

  • Offer consistently professional, friendly, warm, and engaging service to all guests arriving at the assigned Food & Beverage outlet, ensuring every interaction reflects the hotel's luxury hospitality standards.
  • Welcome guests to the assigned outlet, receive and escort guests to their tables, ensure they are comfortably attended to, and remain available as a point of contact throughout their dining experience.
  • Take outlet reservations, manage the reservation book accurately, and answer the telephone in a professional and impeccable manner, providing guests with accurate information on availability and dining arrangements.
  • Set up the outlet prior to business hours in coordination with the service team, ensuring the entrance area, reception desk, and dining floor are fully prepared, clean, and guest-ready ahead of each service period.
  • Coordinate with the service team to make necessary seating arrangements in accordance with the floor plan, manage reservations, and block off reserved tables to ensure smooth guest flow and efficient table management.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, presentation, and upkeep of the outlet entrance area and reception desk at all times, ensuring the first impression created for arriving guests reflects luxury hospitality standards.
  • Assure the well-being of all guests by maintaining a warm, attentive, and professional presence throughout service, addressing guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns promptly and courteously.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the outlet's food and beverage menu, daily specials, promotions, and hotel services to assist guests and provide accurate information when required.
  • Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests in a polite and sophisticated manner, escalating unresolved concerns to the outlet manager promptly to ensure guest satisfaction is maintained.
  • Coordinate effectively with the kitchen, service team, and management to communicate reservation details, VIP arrivals, special dietary requirements, and any guest preferences ahead of each service period.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Hostess or in a Food & Beverage guest-facing role within a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment is preferred.
  • Polished and sophisticated personal presentation with the ability to deal with guests in a courteous and professional manner at all times is recommended.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally is recommended.
  • Knowledge of reservation systems and table management procedures within a Food & Beverage outlet is recommended.
  • Service-oriented personality with a genuine passion for guest relations and the ability to exceed guest expectations at every interaction is recommended.
  • Multilingual ability is considered a strong additional advantage.
  • Candidates from NCT and other hospitality institutes are encouraged to apply.
  • Multilingual candidates will have an added advantage.
