As a Senior Customer Engineer, you will be the guiding force behind bringing Collibra's product and vision to customers and prospects. Responsible for driving net-new business, championing account expansions, and helping to secure renewals, you will establish trusted relationships from day one and serve as a thoughtful technical advisor. As a Senior Customer Engineer supporting the Southern European team, you will be responsible for maintaining technical relationships with customers throughout their entire journey, both pre- and post-sale. You will play an essential and highly respected role within Collibra's sales organization.
This is a remote role based in Madrid.
- Mapping solutions to business value for large, dynamic customers by seamlessly bridging technical requirements and strategic business goals.
- Participating in discovery sessions, driving the qualification of new opportunities, and expanding existing accounts.
- Preparing and conducting product demonstrations, highlighting how the Collibra Platform solves our enterprise customers' specific needs.
- Advising and supporting technical stakeholders to accelerate adoption and value realization, serving as the primary point of contact for all technical and product-related queries.
- Identifying, recommending, and executing value-based workshops, Proof of Concepts, and Proof of Value engagements.
- Preparing and providing expert input for the functional and technical sections of RFPs and RFQs.
- Supporting broader sales and marketing activities, including webcasts, field enablement, and the creation of go-to-market assets.
- Delivering field insights to Product and Engineering teams to drive continuous product improvement.
- 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineering, Customer Engineering, or Sales Consulting role.
- 5+ years of experience working in the Data/SaaS space.
- A strong understanding of two or more of the following areas: data governance, AI governance, data catalogs, data quality, and data privacy platforms.
- Experience across a broad range of sales and business methodologies, including value-based selling, cost-benefit analysis, ROI analysis, and process and project management.
- Proven experience with leading PaaS providers, data lakes, databases, ML/GenAI tools, and integration platforms is required.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- Experience in regulatory compliance is a plus.

- A sales- and customer-focused self-starter with enthusiasm, flexibility, and motivation.
- A trusted advisor to C-level and senior executives.
- A proven collaborator and liaison across all organizational levels and departments, with a track record of success in a partner-heavy environment.
- Confident in presenting and sharing knowledge with a highly skilled and experienced audience.
- Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of business needs and revenue potential for accounts in the region.
- Excited about continuous learning and development, with a strong aptitude for grasping technical concepts.
- Able to travel regionally up to 30% to support business needs.
- Exceptional communication skills in both Spanish and English, essential for engaging with global clients and colleagues.
- Within your first month: You will become familiar with the Collibra platform and gain a deep understanding of our customer landscape.
- Within your second month: You will confidently conduct customer discovery, lead initial product demonstrations, and present solutions that align directly with customer value.
- Within your third month: You will become a strategic voice for Collibra within your accounts—and an advocate for your accounts internally—educating external and internal stakeholders on features, roadmaps, and new use cases.
