POSITION SUMMARY

 

The ID Services Technician is responsible for delivering day-to-day professional ID Services.

 

In this role you are directly responsible to ensure the highest quality of identification services (to individual and corporate clients) which includes (but not limited to) providing Passport Photos, Background Screening, Criminal Record/credit Checks, Fingerprinting, Police Clearances, US Waivers, Record Suspensions, Oaths & Affidavits, Tenant Screening, Pre-Employment Screening, ID Cards, Driver Abstracts, etc. These services may also require being done in a mobile capacity.

 

Please note that the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain a Government of Canada Secret Security Clearance. As this clearance is a requirement of the position, applicants should ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before applying.

 

Hours of Work

 

The regular hours of work for this position are 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

 

Major Responsibilities

 

DAILY OPERATIONS / CUSTOMER SERVICE 

 

  • Ensures the utmost in the provision of all ID services, in accordance with all associated SOPs/policies
  • Support employee onboarding by processing identification, access credentials, and required background screening.
  • Processes detailed paperwork associated with Record Suspension and US Waiver applications
  • Embraces continuous improvement and change management
  • Processes criminal record checks, passport/specialty photos, fingerprints (digital and ink & roll)
  • Performs mobile ID Services as required
  • Operates and maintain specialized equipment including ID printers, cameras and scanners.
  • Resolves routine customer concerns while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Protects confidential and sensitive information through secure handling and record management practices.
  • When required, acts as a Commissioner of Oaths

 

 

DOCUMENTATION

 

  • Prepares correspondence for/to customers and clients
  • Responds to CNS internal inquiries
  • Verify and review documentation to ensure completeness before processing requests.
  • Identify incomplete or inconsistent documentation and work with customers to obtain the required information.
  • Perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy while meeting established service standards. Ensure documentation complies with organizational procedures, legislative requirements, and quality assurance standards.
  • Protect confidential and sensitive information through secure handling and record management practices.

 

Education and Knowledge

 

Education: (Minimum Required): High School, or a combination of related professional training and experience

 

Certifications: Security Clearance SECRET in accordance with Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) guidelines. Personnel Security Screening via a fingerprint‐based Criminal Record Check submitted digitally to CCRTIS every 2 years. Commissioner of Oaths.

Professional/Technical Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in a highly regulated environment
  • Proven ability/experience in a customer/client-based environment
  • Computer savvy with strong computer skills and aptitude in Microsoft products, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
