THE ROLE
Position: Site Supervisor - Pass Control Office
Competition Number: CNS 2026-05-29
Location: Halifax Stanfield International Airport
Reports to: Contracts Manager
Working Hours: Monday-Friday 8 working hours between 0700 - 1900
Hourly Wage: $30.20 per hour
Closing Date: June 11, 2026
Major Responsibilities:
- Credential Management: Reviewing application for the Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC), managing
pass control and conducting fingerprinting and biometrics for airport personnel. - Security Compliance: Ensuring all activities meet Transport Canada regulations and HIAA security standards.
- Administrative Oversight: Overseeing Pass Control related administrative tasks, including visitors pass sign-
out, key control, and lost and found. - Reports: Will complete quality assurance, audits and reports that demonstrate regulatory compliance.
- Staff Supervision
- Monitoring, managing, correcting Pass Control staff, and providing ongoing training and direction to team
- Incident Response: Coordinating the security response t o incidents and responding to emergencies during their shift.
- Customer Service: Providing support and Service to the public and the broader airport community
regarding Pass Control and security credentials, working with stakeholders explaining the requirements of
the processes in place t o help stakeholders successfully complete the required documentation.
Education and Knowledge
Education: Business Administration degree o r certificate. Successfully have completed a formal Supervisors
Course

HIAA Airport Security Plan and all other pertinent HIAA orders and directives. - Be knowledgeable of, or be willing t o learn, provincial and federal legislation that may impact operations,
including:- Canada Labour Code
- Nova Scotia Labour Act
- Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Freedom o f Information and Protection of Privacy Act
- Human Rights Act
- Labour Standards Code
- Workers' Compensation Act
WHO WE’RE SEEKING
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must:
- Be aged 19 or older;
- Be legally eligible to work in Canada;
- Not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted;
- Be able to provide fingerprints and complete a criminal record check;
- Be eligible to apply for, and attain, Government of Canada secret security clearance;
- Be able to communicate effectively in English

The incumbent must possess the following experience, skills, and attributes:

- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgement and decision making in emergency situations
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to changing situations
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to lead a team focused on the common goal of providing superior service to the client
- Computer proficiency using MS Suite software
- Superior attention to detail
- Due to the scheduled hours, reliable transportation is required
- Valid, graduates NS driver’s license required
