THE ROLE
Position: Site Supervisor
Competition Number: CNS 2026-06-02
Location: Provincial Mail
Reports to: HRM District Manager
Working Hours: 0630-1430 Monday-Friday (some weekend and/or overtime will be required/necessary)
Hourly Wage: $21.50 per hour
Closing Date: June 22, 2026
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer and coordinate the daily operations of the Same-Day Intergovernmental Mail Delivery contract (#2002), ensuring effective service delivery and compliance with operational requirements.
- Schedule personnel and review, verify, and approve employee timesheets in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Utilize the OnWatch system to support scheduling, reporting, workforce management, and operational oversight.
- Maintain, update, and promulgate Standing Work Instructions (SWIs) to ensure employees have access to current procedures and operational guidance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the client, fostering positive working relationships and addressing operational requirements, concerns, and service-related matters.
- Coordinate and support mail delivery operations to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Maintain a valid Nova Scotia Driver's Licence and operate a motor vehicle as required to support operational needs.
- Use a personal vehicle on occasion to complete deliveries and fulfill operational requirements, in accordance with organizational policies and reimbursement procedures.
WHO WE’RE SEEKING
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must:
- Be aged 19 or older;
- Be legally eligible to work in Canada;
- Not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted;
- Be able to provide fingerprints and complete a criminal record check;
- Be eligible to apply for, and attain, Government of Canada secret security clearance;
- Be able to communicate effectively in English
Qualifications and Skills
The incumbent must possess the following experience, skills, and attributes:
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgement and decision making in emergency situations
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to changing situations
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to lead a team focused on the common goal of providing superior service to the client
- Computer proficiency using MS Suite software
- Superior attention to detail
- Due to the scheduled hours, reliable transportation is required
- Valid, graduates NS driver’s license required
