Combining strategic direction with active, tactical execution, this role leads, mentors, and manages a team of direct reports while serving as the primary operational liaison throughout the onboarding lifecycle. The director coordinates cross-functional efforts among executive leadership, hospital administrators, vendors, and internal teams to direct project timelines, technical setups, and contract pricing activations across medical-surgical and pharmaceutical lines. Leveraging deep healthcare supply chain expertise and analytical rigor, the role actively conducts financial analysis, tier optimization, contract connections, and data validation to capture cost reductions and track realized savings. Furthermore, the director drives continuous improvement across all operational workflows and process governance—including Salesforce tools—executes change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions, refines implementation work plans, and delivers executive reporting to ensure high-performance execution, team growth, and long-term member engagement.

Experience

Requires 6+ years of healthcare supply chain experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role, and 3+ years of project management experience (or equivalent demonstrated through progressive work experience).

Education

A Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field is required.

Major Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Implementation & Project Leadership

  • Onboarding Management: Lead end-to-end GPO implementations for new members in accordance with the CHC Supply Trust Implementation Work Plan, managing scope, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and project deliverables from initiation through eligibility active date.
  • Operational Execution: Direct technical setup operations, including GPO eligibility request submissions, Salesforce account setup and maintenance, and workstream alignment.
  • Risk & Issue Mitigation: Proactively track deliverables, identify barriers to implementation, manage operational risks, and escalate roadblocks in a timely manner to secure swift resolution with appropriate resources.

2. Supply Chain Operations & Contract Alignment

  • Supply Conversions: Oversee conversion planning to align member purchasing with GPO contracts, identifying efficiencies to accelerate timelines and ensure conversion accuracy across med/surg and pharmaceutical lines.
  • Contract & Pricing Setup: Manage the accurate and timely setup and activation of contract pricing, tier placements, vendor distribution agreements, and wholesaler contracts.
  • Transition Management: Guide member executive leadership, hospital administrators, and supply chain teams through the operational transition from their prior GPO to CHC Supply Trust frameworks.

3. Financial Analysis, Benchmarking & Savings Optimization

  • Data Collection & Validation: Manage member data collection, meeting schedules, data file validation, and analysis submission to identify cost-saving opportunities and for use in third-party analytics tools.
  • Tier Optimization: Facilitate optimal contract tier placements.
  • Savings Tracking & Reporting: Track realized savings against initial projections to validate financial impact, providing clear reporting on contract compliance, utilization, and delivered cost reductions.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration & Strategic Partnerships

  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate directly with contracted distributors, wholesalers, and suppliers.
  • Interdepartmental Alignment: Partner with internal leadership across pharmacy, purchased services, account management, analytics, and operations to identify process improvements, eliminate operational bottlenecks, and drive consistency.
  • Technical Advisory: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships across all management levels, serving as a trusted technical and operational resource for GPO implementation strategies.

5. Member Engagement, Relationship Management & Growth

  • Primary Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for members throughout the implementation lifecycle, leading regular status meetings, managing issue resolution, and providing progress reports.
  • Executive Engagement: Engage clinical, operational, and executive leadership to align strategic goals, foster long-term rapport, and instill confidence.
  • Member Education: Support member education on the GPO business model, compliance expectations, and reporting tools.

6. Process Optimization, Executive Governance & Compliance

  • Work Plan Optimization: Continuously evaluate, refine, and update the Implementation Work Plan to streamline workflows and enhance the experience for both internal teams and new members.
  • Executive Communication: Develop and deliver regular project updates, executive reports, and performance metrics to leadership, maintaining consistent communication with the VP of Supply Chain Operations and GPO Implementation.
  • Change Management & Compliance: Implement change management strategies to facilitate smooth, organization-wide adoption of new systems and processes while strictly adhering to CHC policies, procedures, and cost-conscious operating standards.

7. Employee Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and retain a high-performing team. Assess staff competencies to identify growth opportunities and ensure the team is equipped to support sales cost analytics, member implementation, and operational strategies.

General Duties

  • Exhibits appropriate quality service behaviors in meeting and/or exceeding the needs of departmental customers, co-workers, and others they encounter as representative of CHC.
  • Maintains up-to-date awareness of activities, industry trends, and government regulations as appropriate for materials management and GPO-related issues.

  • Performs other related duties, analytical tasks, and special projects as assigned.
  • Position is based in our Plano Office. Ability to travel up to 20% of time to support facilities and lead implementations.
