Learn more at www.confiemx.com Job Description: The EHS Compliance Specialist is responsible for implementing industrial safety, hygiene, and environmental programs necessary to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions. Proposes measures to prevent unsafe conditions, environmental protection to comply with the requirements of the applicable Mexican regulations and legislation, as well as the internal policies and procedures in both buildings of the Company. This position will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with labor legal provisions by supporting case management, document control, and monitoring of legal processes. It contributes to the prevention of labor contingencies and to compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Job Responsibilities 1. Support for attending and responding to federal, state or municipal inspections by the Ministry of Labor and Social Prevention, Fire Department, Civil Protection or as necessary. 2. Responsible for coordinating everything related to the Fire Department like fire detectors, fire extinguishers, hydrants, first aid kits, etc. 3. Ensures to implement and follow up to comply with Mexican standards applicable to the Company, such as, but not limited to: 4. NOM-001-STPS-2008 Buildings, Premises and Facilities. Responsible for the annual ocular verification or after an accident, evaluating the conditions of the Company's buildings. 5. NOM-002-STPS-2010 Fire prevention and protection; 6. NOM-019-STPS-2011; Constitution, integration, organization and operation of safety and hygiene commissions. Coordinates the proper functioning of the Health and Safety Commission. Ensuring that the quarterly tours are carried out, making, documenting, and communicating the minutes of the tour and following up in a timely manner to the observations found. It ensures compliance with the participation of the commission in other activities such as: Safety and hygiene signs placed in accordance with the NOM-026-STPS-2028. Evaluation of the execution of drills in accordance with internal emergency protocols. 7. NOM-017-STPS-2008. Personal protective equipment - Selection, use and handling in the workplace. 8. NOM-026-STPS-2008 Safety colors and signs. 9. NOM-037-STPS-2023 Telework 10. NOM-029-STPS-2011 Maintenance of electrical installations in workplaces-Safety conditions. 11. NOM-030-STPS-2009 Preventive health and safety services. Conduct an annual situational assessment to verify the overall compliance status with applicable Mexican regulations before the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) 12. NOM-035-STPS-2018 Psychosocial risk factors in the workplace-Identification, analysis and prevention. 13. Keep updated on legislation applicable to the Company and make relevant recommendations to comply with them, monitoring and reporting when a change applicable to the company and its commercial line is detected. 14. Coordinates and/or executes the annual maintenance of fire extinguishers, monthly inspection of fire extinguishers and hydrants conditions and coordination of hydrostatic test to fire extinguishers. 15. Coordinates the integration and operation of the emergency brigades. 16. Coordinate the planning, development and results of the drills required by Civil Protection in accordance with the Emergency Protocols and internal manuals. 17. Responsible for Preparing reports, presentations, documents, as required. 18. Responsible for scheduling in a timely manner for the monthly fumigation and follow up on pest reports. 19. Supports and follow up quotes, purchase orders and invoices in coordination with the Purchasing department. 20. Internal management of child support proceedings conducted by the Family Court and coordination with Legal Counsel to ensure compliance with court orders. 21.Internal management of Summons and Lawsuits from the Board of Conciliation and Arbitration, Labor Conciliation Center, and Labor Court. 22. Analyze, draft, review legal documents related to the company’s operations and projects. 23. Support for REPSE regulations in validating legal compliance, managing documentation, and monitoring obligations related to the subcontracting of specialized services. 24. Support in complying with the “Chair Law” (Ley Silla) through alignment with internal policies and current legal requirements regarding working conditions. Requirements Law degree (mandatory) – must be a licensed attorney. 2–3 years of experience in legal, compliance, or EHS-related roles. Intermediate to advanced English level (written and spoken). Experience with regulatory compliance, due diligence, and legal risk analysis. Knowledge of Mexican labor and EHS regulations, particularly STPS standards. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
