As a Design Engineer for Contech’s mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) precast product line, you will be part of a high‑performing team responsible for delivering innovative, reliable, and customer‑centric engineering solutions for our MSE wall system product portfolio. This role requires a collaborative individual with experience in geotechnical or structural design. ~1 min read- Perform engineering analysis and design of MSE wall systems, including internal and external stability, and connection design. Consult with outside engineering firms as needed.
- Provide design support, specifications, solution development, installation guidance, and project‑cycle problem‑solving for our internal sales team, clients, and customers.
- Build strong relationships with project managers, geotechnical engineers, civil engineers, contractors, operations teams, and QA/QC personnel to ensure project success.
- Communicate key metrics, recommendations, and technical insights to senior leadership.
- Contribute to process improvements, strategic initiatives, and the development of tools that enhance engineering efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with plant managers, clerks, project managers on project status updates and product specifications, testing, and improvements.
- Manage outside client/customer projects through all stages; take-off, submittal, preconstruction meetings, field resolution and installation support as needed.
- Review drawings and calculations for quality, accuracy, and compliance with engineering intent and applicable standards.
- Respond to field inquiries and coordinate timely, practical solutions that support both customer needs and business objectives.
- Manage State DOT approvals, QPL, APL, as required for Vist-A-Wall precast and wire walls.
- Maintain working knowledge of relevant codes and standards: AASHTO, FHWA MSE wall design guidance, ASCE 7, ACI, and other applicable specifications.
Requirements

- Minimum of 2-years of relevant work experience.
- Related engineering degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with CRM or related project management databases.
- Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management tools.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain PE license preferred.
- Strong understanding of civil site plans and technical specifications.
